London travel news LIVE: Commuter misery sparked by District line disruptions for second day running

Commuters will face more misery today as the District line is severely delayed between Edgware Road and Wimbledon due to an earlier signal failure.

The line re-opened at 7.30am following an earlier part-suspension due to a signaling problem at Wimbledon Park.

This marks the second consecutive day of District line disruptions following a part suspension of the line yesterday due to a fault in the Wimbledon area.

TfL reported good service on all other Tube lines.

Meanwhile. there are minor delays across the rest of the line due to train cancellations.

Further District line stations facing delays

Trains between Waterloo and Portsmouth delayed by up to 25 minutes until 12pm

Building site materials blown onto a Central line track are causing part-suspension and delays

Tarpaulin and scaffolding from a nearby building site has blown onto the track at Hanger Lane, causing delays and part-suspensions on the Central line.

As a result, the line is part suspended between North Acton and West Ruislip and there are delays between Leytonstone and North Action while the obstruction is cleared.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for TfL has confirmed an earlier security alert at Euston was a false alarm.

The Northern line remains part-suspended on northbound services between Morden and Camden Town via Bank as a result of the alert.

Central line delay update

Met Police confirm nobody was injured in M25 lorry crash

A spokesperson for the Met Police has confirmed there were no injuries in a collision this morning after a lorry became stuck under a bridge on the M25.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told My London: "Kent Police was called at 4.46am on Monday 15 September to a report that a lorry had struck a bridge on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between junctions 3 and 4.

"Patrols attended the scene alongside highways officers and the carriageway was closed at junction 3 to allow the recovery of the vehicle."

The Crockenhill Road bridge was hit by the lorry, according to traffic monitoring site INRIX.
