London train service offering discounts for Oasis for Wembley shows

Oasis fans are flocking to north east London today with the excitement of seeing the Gallagher brothers live in action once again as the band hold their first London concert in nearly two decades,

The last time Oasiso played in London was 16 years ago, and now, more than 90,000 fans are making their way head to Wembley Stadium to see them reunite tonight (Friday July 25).

And it will not just be Londoners there, with fans from all over Europe and the UK expected to come into the capital those the gig.

To make it easier, rail passengers travelling to and from one of London’s busiest airports have been given a helping hand.

Those travelling from Heathrow are being advised to take advantage of a cut price deal to get them to north west London.

The Heathrow Express - a direct 15-minute service from London Paddington to Heathrow Central - is cutting fares to mark the return of the band, and says it is expecting a high number of travellers to use the service.

Heathrow Express is offering 8 per cent off full fare tickets from Friday, July 25, to Sunday, August, 3.

The discount is available when booking online or via the Heathrow Express app with the code OASIS8. The discount also extends to additional passengers booked on the same journey.

The 8 per cent discount is a clever tribute to the band’s eight UK number-one singles - and the discount will apply to both Express Class and Business First fares.

Aoife Considine, Business Lead at Heathrow Express, said: We know this is more than just a gig - it’s a major moment for thousands of fans around the world. People are travelling hundreds of miles, often at great personal cost, to be part of it. We wanted to do something practical to support them.”

"Whether you’re flying in from Manchester, Madrid or Melbourne, your journey into London should be as easy and affordable as possible - it should start on the right note.”
