London startups picked for Farfetch mentoring scheme

Luxury online retailer Farfetch on Friday named a number of London startups that will get access to training and potential new investors as part of a programme it backs.

Farfetch, which was founded by entrepreneur José Neves in 2007, said eight tech-focused companies have been selected from 155 applicants to take part in the ‘dream assembly’.

The seven-week programme, which will take place digitally, includes masterclasses with senior leaders at Farfetch and from other businesses, on luxury fashion, marketing, and tech. Companies will also have the chance to get introductions to investors.

Of the eight firms selected to take part, four are London-based: FavourUp, M- XR, Immersive Virtual Apparel and Supply Compass.

David Grunwald, vice president of innovation at Farfetch, said all the companies “have business models focused on the digitisation of commerce across various industries”.

Cipriano Sousa, chief technology officer at Farfetch, said the business will share “know-how, tools, and expertise to help the start-ups reach their full potential and ultimately helping them increase efficiencies in their current business models”.
