DMGT is now thinking about options for the afternoon market. One of these is closing the paid Evening Standard, less radical choices would be lowering the cover price or converting it into a free paper.

Actually, there's not much wrong with the Standard that couldn't be put right if it cared more about London - the whole of it - and less about Home Counties commuters and pursuing vendettas. Ah well, we can dream.
