London’s Peckhamplex cinema to reopen on August 26

One of London’s favourite cult cinemas is set to reopen its doors this month, with Peckhamplex welcoming back guests from August 26.

The Rye Lane cinema closed for the first time in 25 years following the coronavirus outbreak, but it is now ready to welcome back guests under social distancing.

The cinema announced the news on Twitter, writing: “We're back and open for business. Films showing from Wednesday August 26. Tickets now on Sale. Online bookings only.”

Screenings will get back underway next Wednesday, with showings of Tenet, Unhinged, Pinocchio, Summerland and more.

It joins other independent cinemas like Whitechapel’s Genesis in reopening in London, with Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated Tenet set to be the biggest draw for film fans over the coming weeks.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson previously confirmed that it will be mandatory for cinema guests to wear face coverings.
