The most stressful London TfL Tube line revealed

London may be home to one of the best transport networks in the world but there is no denying travelling on the tube can be stressful at peak times.

Whether it being crammed into the carriage like sardines or sitting on a stationary train due to delays, the London Underground can cause angst for travellers.

A divisive topic, commuters will have varying opinions about which tube line is the worst.

But according to a new study, the Central Line is the most stressful route.

Wellbeing company Beeja Meditation ranked each London underground based on a number of categories including the line’s average temperature.

Other categories included the hours lost due to disruptions of two minutes or more, and the average excess journey time obtained from TfL data from 2017-18.

It then compiled the data to show which route had the most faults.

The red line was found to be the most stressful, scoring 73.93 out of 100 - largely owing to the numbers of lost customer hours (426,400) and the most delays of more than 15 minutes (180).

The line also came in second place for its average temperature of 26.35C, a measurement only beaten by the Bakerloo Line’s average of 27.32C.

The second most stressful live was the Piccadilly Line , followed by the District and Northern Lines.

The Waterloo and City Line was voted the least stressful of the 10 underground lines and also had the lowest number of completed journeys with 17 million in 2018.

As well as identifying the most harrowing route the research also revealed the most stressful tube stops by comparing footfall and train delays.

Kings Cross St Pancras achieved the number spot with Stratford at number two and Waterloo at number three.
