Celebrating their 10th anniversary, these iconic displays greeted visitors with festive cheer, delighting crowds who gathered to watch the city shine.
The magical experience continues until 4th January, inviting everyone to enjoy the sparkle and joy of the season.
This year's 'The Spirit of Christmas' displays are inspired by the very first installations featuring angels which made an appearance back in 1954.
The current installations comprise over 30 'Spirits', crafted from more than 300,000 LED lights, illuminating Regent Street and St James's while running on an energy-efficient timer system.

The displays can also be found in surrounding side streets, including Jermyn Street, Glasshouse Street, Swallow Street and the striking Princes and Quadrant Arcades.
While in nearby St James's Market, an illuminated 'Wishing Tree' is in place, where visitors can tap to make a donation of £5 and trigger the twinkling light display.
All proceeds from the tree will go to The Felix Project, a charity dedicated to rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to communities in need across London.
Those visiting for the light switch on enjoyed performances from London-based choirs who were singing festive classics throughout the evening across the Regent Street and St James's destinations.
Plus, there was an appearance by the famous elves from the Hamleys toy store, who were on hand to delight the crowds as the lights turned on.
Those wishing to see the Regent Street and St James's lights for themselves can enjoy them until Sunday 4th January, where they'll run daily from 3pm until midnight.
