London Road crash: Police shut down section of road after traffic collision in Glasgow's east end

Police have shut down a section of London Road after a crash in Glasgow's east end this evening.

The road is closed to traffic eastbound between Canmore Street and Methven Street.

Glasgow City Council confirmed emergency services are in attendance and diversions are in place.

The council's Traffic Control and Management team advised shortly before 6pm: "Due to a road traffic collision, London Road (Eastbound only) is closed to traffic between Canmore Street and Methven Street until further notice.

"Emergency Services are in attendance and road users should follow their direction.

"Further bulletins will be issued as more information becomes available."

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Around 5.25pm on Friday, 26 March, officers were called to London Road, Glasgow, following a report of a two-car crash.

"The road is currently blocked and emergency services remain at the scene."

UPDATE: The council have confirmed the road re-opened at 7.20pm
