London pub sells Britain's 'most expensive beer' - that costs a whopping £47

A London pub is selling Britain's "most expensive beer " - that costs a whopping £47 per bottle.

Brewed in California, the Bruery's Mash and Coconut is described as a "classic bourbon barrel-aged imperial brown ale", and it's not cheap.

A 750ml bottle will set you back nearly £50, and it's currently on sale at The Craft Beer Co in Brixton, London, but people have said buying one is like "flushing money down the toilet".

In comparison, the average price for a Sunday roast in a London pub is around £11.53, which would mean you could spend the money used to buy a bottle of the ale or four whole dinners.

What do you think of the pricey beer? Let us know in the comments...

Speaking to The Sun, one drinker said they wouldn't consider buying a bottle of beer for £47.

She said: "That’s so much money for something that is gone so quickly. Does it really taste that much better that it warrants paying so much? You’re literally flushing money down the toilet."

Lidia Kiszewska, an expert in the beer industry, told the publication: "This price range is fairly unusual to see, however, it's not the first time I've seen this.

"That's quite a high price bracket, but personally I'm not surprised."

Meanwhile, a savvy woman has shared her top tips to help protect your finances - after she was able to save a whopping £5k with ease.

Nalan Kaya, 26, sometimes spends less than £30 a month on shopping, which includes food, in part by claiming free samples and getting rewards doing online surveys.

She'll do anything to keep the cost down, and often buys discounted 'yellow sticker' items instead of the full price equivalent.

Nalan, an NHS biomedical assistant from Coventry, West Midlands, said that she's managed to save £5,000 in just three years - and by following in her footsteps you can too.
