London police have successfully contained two military horses that were found running loose without riders in the heart of the U.K. capital on Wednesday morning. It is reported that several other horses are still believed to be on the loose.
Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, but British media outlets have indicated that a total of seven military horses had initially escaped. Police are currently collaborating with army personnel in efforts to recapture the remaining horses.
According to reports, a taxi driver waiting near Buckingham Palace had his car window smashed by one of the spooked horses, while a parked double-decker tour bus sustained damage to its windscreen.
The City of London police have confirmed that two of the horses have been successfully recaptured. Officers are now awaiting a horse box from the British Army to transport the animals to a veterinarian for assessment.
Images of the two horses, one black and the other white, both wearing saddles and bridles, have been circulating on social media platforms. The white horse was observed with red markings on its front.
The horses were spotted running on the road near Aldwych, situated between London's historic financial district and the West End, which serves as the entertainment hub of the city.
Police managed to contain the horses approximately 4 miles (6 kilometers) east of central London, near Limehouse.
