A Hackney pizza restaurant is offering a discount to customers who have written to their local MP expressing support for a second Brexit referendum.
Apollo Pizzeria in Stoke Newington is offering a 25 per cent discount on pizza for any customer who can show a copy of the letter or email that has been sent to their local member of parliament.
In a statement sent to the Standard, the pizzeria said: “it was important to take a stand over the issue which is likely to be very damaging to the restaurant/hospitality sector”.
Apollo is in the Hackney North and Stoke Newington constituency, which has Labour Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott as its MP and voted to Remain with a more than a 78 per cent majority.
The offer is set to be available from today, January 14, with the promotion ending either on March 29 or when a Second Referendum is called – whichever is sooner.
Discounts will be valid from Sundays to Thursdays, on eat-in meals rather than takeaways, and for customers ordering at least two items (of which one is pizza).
