A nursery worker who was convicted of dozens of sexual attacks on children left in his care has been charged with a further 15 offences.

Vincent Chan, 45, previously pleaded guilty to 26 offences between 2022 and 2024, including sexually assaulting four girls aged between two and four at the north London nursery where he worked, and offences relating to more than 25,000 indecent images of children.

His crimes took place at a now closed nursery in West Hampstead, run by Bright Horizons. He has now been charged with a further 15 offences that pre-date those for which he was convicted, relating to possession of indecent images of children and acts of outraging public decency.

The new charges relate to incidents which did not take place in the same location as his previous crimes. They include nine counts of taking an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, including the most severe category, and six counts of acts of outraging public decency. The charges relate to nine girls.

Chan, from Finchley, is in custody awaiting sentencing for his earlier convictions. These included five sexual assaults by penetration of a child aged between two and four years, four sexual assaults, 11 counts of taking indecent photos, and six of making indecent images of children.

The police investigation is ongoing.
