The Virgin Money London Marathon returns to the streets of the capital this Sunday with thousands raising money for good causes while dressed in a variety of costumes.
Even with this year's race still set to take place, plenty are already wondering how they can take part in next year's event.
If running past London's most famous sights dressed as a giant chicken is your kind of fun, then you can prepare to enter the ballot for the 2020 race.
The ballot will open later this year - so here is everything you need to know to take part in next year's edition.

So, how do I apply to take part next year?
The most common way is to enter the London Marathon ballot, with results usually announced around October.
As yet, the exact details of the ballot are yet to be announced, though last year's opened eight days after the race itself and remained open for five days.
The ballot is run via the official London Marathon website and you are best advised to keep a track on their official website and also by keeping track on their social media channels.
If you don't get allocated a place from the ballot, or decide you want to compete after the results have been announced, you may be able to secure a charity entry place.
Most major charities have a set number of places allocated in the marathon, and you can contact the charity you wish to race for directly to see if they have a spot.
