A teenager was left fighting for life after being stabbed in London’s affluent Little Venice district.
The 19-year-old was said to be in a critical but stable condition following the attack near Rembrandt Gardens on Sunday.
Police were called to the scene in Warwick Avenue, where houses sell for up to £9.5 million, shortly before 8pm.
Scotland Yard said the victim was taken to a central London hospital and there were no arrests.
A Section 60 order was put in place to allow officers in the area to stop and search anyone to prevent further violence.
It came hours after another 19-year-old was seriously injured in a stabbing in south London.
The victim was attacked in St Oswalds Road, Croydon, at about 3.20pm on Sunday. His injuries were initially deemed critical but later deemed not life-threatening.
Resident Jenny Carter, 74, said: “It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is when it happens. You just get used to hearing the sirens and you don’t blink at it anymore.”
Earlier on Sunday, a suspected knifeman was arrested after allegedly barricading himself inside a north London home he had broken into.
Officers were called to the scene in Holloway Road, Islington, at about 12.20pm. A 36-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of burglary and affray. There were no injuries.
