With an average house price of £29,898,000, Kensington Palace Gardens in west London has been crowned the UK’s priciest street for the 13th consecutive year, according to the property portal Zoopla.
The company’s latest property Rich List findings show that London is home to the UK’s 10 most expensive streets.
Kensington Palace Gardens in W8 is known for its embassies, diplomatic residences and billionaire residents including Roman Abramovich, owner of Chelsea FC.
In second place came north London’s Courtenay Avenue in Highgate N6, with an average house price of £19,440,000. This was followed by Grosvenor Crescent (£17,212,000) located in SW1, with Ilchester Place in London W14 fourth place (£15,220,000).
Outside the capital, Zoopla said that roads with the UK’s heftiest average property price tags are all located in the south-east of England.
In first place was Titlarks Hill, Ascot (£8,410,000) followed by Montrose Gardens in Leatherhead (£7,017,000) and Portnall Rise in Surrey’s Virginia Water (£6,211,000).
Zoopla added that Guildford in Surrey is home to the highest number of streets, 176, where the average price is £1 million. The town was followed by Reading with 137.
Zoopla’s Gráinne Gilmore said: “London comes top when it comes to the UK’s prime markets, but the wider commuter zone in the South East is also home to some of the highest-value addresses, reflecting the size and type of housing stock in these regions.”
