A lilac carpeted catwalk was the setting for Christopher Kane's fantastic show which started with a parade of black and white pinstripes. But forget about city types this had an altogether moodier vibe with pinstripe fur bombers and thick piped leather belts aimed at the arch fashion girl rather than barristers. Moire - which resembles silky marbled wallpaper - was used heavily in the collection. Backstage the designer said this was 'like the inside of a coffin' and 'disgusting'. Anorak shapes, cable knit polo jumpers contrasted with floral embroidered skirts made for a tough look which cool fashion fans will love. One jumper which looked like it was made from liquorice shoelaces was a personal highlight

Bright colours including blood red and lilac gave the collection a modern feel at Christopher Kane's show where, as always, the soundtrack told a story. This one featured the music from the 1980 film Cruising in which Al Pacino goes undercover as a cop seeking out a gay serial killer among seedy New York clubs

The show started with coated leather and tweed dresses in the designer's signature below the knee length. It seemed as if it would be less whimsical than usual but Erdem's signature floral prints and lace were present and correct. Best was what looked like tweed polonecks shot through with neon thread

Another highlight was a coated A-line leather skirt in ink blue – a shape that is proving popular this season. Erdem's loyal fans include include Anna Wintour and Sam Cam who both applauded from the front row at the White Cube Gallery

'Evening wear and home knits from the 1930s, Ziegfeld Follies, Veronica Lake, and a mix of abstract and marbled prints,' said the show notes. The Lake reference was easy to spot with the very done curled hair - also a bit Lana Del Rey - which was also on the invite

This collection saw the designer evolve his signature look, which revolves around fusing different fabrics together. Pretty florals, wisps of chiffon, boucle wool and mohair were all part of the mix

Highlight of group show Fashion East was James Long, who has established himself as a master of texture mash ups and original knits. This season his signature biker jackets developed from his men's line had embellished gold fronts and quilted leather or pink metallic contrast sleeves

Jumbo tassels swung off dresses, a sparkling pink full skirt swung while a rich opulent print (think World of Interiors/Stately Home) was beautiful on both a velvet skirt and cigarette trousers

Countryside cool and a dash of military and a side of city. That's the way to sum up Burberry this season. Alongside a lot of coat action, there were quirky animal motifs, a rain storm, and a brolly finale. Coats, the core of the Burbs business, were cropped, puffer, quilted, checked, military, belted, leather, velvet

Some featured contrast sections, such as the first outfit: a tweed coat with cream mid-section. A lot featured belts - either with bows or animal heads (think door knockers) - that cinched the waist. Peplums similarly drew attention to the waist, and is clearly a two-season trend in the making

Designer Christopher Bailey added a few quirks to the mix, such as owl illustrated tops, gold studded leather gloves, tweed caps and a tinsel-style textured fabric on evening skirts and dresses
