London faces days of travel chaos as Tube strike hits commuters

  • Commuters in London face significant transport disruption from 7 to 12 September due to Tube strikes by Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) members.
  • All London Underground lines will be severely affected, with little to no service expected from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 September.
  • The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will also experience no service on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 September, and specific Elizabeth Line stations will have limited stops.
  • The industrial action stems from a long-running dispute over pay and working conditions, with RMT rejecting Transport for London's 3.4 per cent pay offer.
  • Transport for London advises commuters to plan journeys in advance, allow extra time, and consider alternative transport methods like cycling or walking.
