"Gold leaf just adds another layer of quality, beauty, but also texturally as well," explains company founder, Robert Kingdon.
This year, XO Chocolate London has launched a selection of striking luxury Easter eggs and taken inspiration from some of the viral chocolate hits from Dubai.
One egg in particular, made with something known as "Dubai chocolate", features a crunchy mixture of chocolate, pistachio cream and knafeh, a crispy filo dough that is better known for its use in baklava.
But customers will have to dig deep if they want to buy one; they retail at £60 (€70).
