London Bridge Station re-opens after being shut down following terror attack

London Bridge Station has been reopened following a terror incident.

A man was shot dead by police near London Bridge this afternoon after several people were stabbed.

Scotland Yard said the attack “has been declared as a terror incident” but that police were keeping an open mind about the motive.

London Bridge mainline station was closed, while tubes were also not stopping at London Bridge Underground station.

National Rail said the station had now been reopened. It tweeted: "London Bridge station has now reopened following an earlier police incident near the station.

"Trains may continue to be delayed, cancelled or revised whilst the train service is reinstated."

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps tweeted: “London Bridge station now reopen – it will take a little time for services to return to normal. My thanks to passengers for their co-operation and to the British Transport Police for their professionalism.”

London Bridge is closed in both directions between Fenchurch Street to the north and Southwark Street to the south.
