London-based Indian street food truck coming to Bristol – for one day only

A mobile food truck which usually operates at markets around London will deliver plant-based curries to people across Bristol for one day only.

Bhangra Bites was launched by experienced chef Paz Singh just three months before the lockdown was enforced, serving at markets in the Hammersmith area of the capital.

Like countless others across the country, Paz has had to adapt to keep his newly-launched business afloat amid the Covid-19 crisis - which will see him take his food on tour across the UK, starting with Bristol on Friday, May 22.

"The timing of the Covid-19 lockdown was very unfortunate for our business, striking just three months after we started," said Paz.

"But we're fortunate we're on wheels which gives us a far bit of flexibility.

"My business partner and I came up with the idea of taking our food to people rather than making them come to us.

"We know that Bristol has a very strong vegan community so we decided to head there first."

Customers will need to pre-order their meals on the Bhangra Bites website before the truck arrives in the city at 1pm on Friday.

The menu include chaats, curries, samosas and more, all vegetarian and vegan.

Paz and his business partner will prepare all of the orders in London before cooking the food when they arrive in Bristol.

They will then drive around the city dropping the dishes off to the lucky people who ordered.

"We're really excited to bring our truck to Bristol," added Paz. "It's such a beautiful city and it's seen as the vegan capital of the UK, so we're hoping for a lot of interest."

To place an order, call Bhangra Bites on 07841 839 507. For more information including the full menu, visit Bhangra Bites' Facebook page.
