Canary Wharf has been infused with a burst of colour in a new summer art display.

Morag Myerscough has provided Londoners with a place to renew, recharge and uplift at Montgomery Square.

Surrounded by glass skyscrapers, the London artist’s radiant Sun Pavilion stands out as a colourful haven of positivity.

It forms part of a free art and events programme running throughout the summer.

“The pavilion is a response to the reawakening we are hopeful for this summer. The sun radiates energy and brings joy, and we all need a bit of it,” Myerscough said.

“We have lived in a virtual internal world for the last year and it is now important to be outside with others and hear the sounds of people around us.”

The artist often uses the sun as a symbol of joy in her work.

Canary Wharf is home to one of the UK’s largest collections of public art. The award-winning collection consists of more than 75 artworks from 50 world-renowned artists.

Myerscough’s work is part of the Canary Wharf free Arts and Events Programme, which includes a marble sculpture by the internationally renowned Helaine Blumenfeld, and a colourful basketball court, turbo charged with inspiration by Yinka Ilori.
