London Anime and Gaming Con: Where is it, when is it, and how can you get tickets?

It is the event of the year for many British anime fans, with thousands set to descend on London to celebrate their favourite gaming characters.

The London Anime and Gaming Con is set to see all sorts of fancy dress and wacky outfits during the two-day convention, featuring everything from gaming, cosplay, anime, and comics.

Cosplayers and gamers are lining up to see the exhibition which is held every summer.

But what is it all about, where is it happening, and how can you join in?

Here is everything you need to know:

What is London Anime and Gaming Con?

Run by Animeleague, the London Anime and Gaming Con is an annual event returning to London once again for what organisers have labelled a “full weekend of madcap fun”. The event covers a wide variety of anime-adjacent interests, including manga, western animation, and gaming of all kinds.

Where is it happening and when?

It is a two-day event taking place next weekend on August 12 and 13 at the London Novotel West. The closest station to the exhibition is Hammersmith. The entrance is on Hammersmith Road, which is not the hotel’s main entrance. On Saturday and Sunday, those with VIP and Early Bird tickets can enter at 10am but people with standard tickets booked online can enter from 11.30am.

What will be there?

A whole host of weird and wonderful people, stalls, and exhibitions will be available to visit. There are four floors of stalls covering everything there is to know about the anime and magazine world with a whole host of special guests lined up, too, including well-known voice actors, YouTubers, and cosplayers. There are also parties running until midnight each night, including a glowstick rave on the Saturday. Plus all attendees who come dressed in cosplay and Harajuku fashion can enter a masquerade, with a prize on the Sunday.

Gamers are also well catered for, with everything from board games and retro arcade classics to the latest games from developers, as well as a trading card tournament, typically for fans of Yu Gi Oh, Magic the Gathering, and Pokémon.

How do I get tickets to London Anime and Gaming Con?

Tickets bought online cost £39 for both days and can be purchased here. If you want to go for just one day on the Saturday, it will cost £24 if bought in advance, or £25 on the door, but tickets on the door cannot be guaranteed.

On Sunday, tickets are slightly cheaper and cost £19 online or £20 on the door.

All ages are welcome but only those aged 18 and over can attend parties and those under 16 must be accompanied at all times.
