Lollipop lady describes herself as 'hideous pot-bellied dwarf' before magical transformation

A lollipop lady suffering from severe under confidence describes herself "hideous 200-year-old pot-bellied dwarf" when she looks in the mirror.

Mum-of-two Klara appears on Channel 5's 10 Years Younger In 10 Days tonight and is incredibly insecure in herself.

Klara will receive a magical makeover this evening, but her self-worth has taken a knocking over the years.

"I've always felt like an ugly duckling," she says in a preview clip from tonight's show. "I'm pretty insecure about everything - head to toe; hair, spotty skin, face, boobs, belly, bum."

The busy mum's own husband Gary admits that he has "never known her to look in the mirror, smile and be happy with who she is".

"She's more beautiful than the day that I married her," Gary says. "Unfortunately she doesn't see that side of herself in any way, shape or form."

Klara admits that her husband often tells her that she looks amazing but that she "doesn't hear the words".

Ahead of starting on her 10-day makeover, Klara meets up with presenter Cherry Healey as the public judge her on her looks and rate how old they reckon she looks.

Klara says that part of her doesn't want to know, but another part of her is interested to see what strangers think of her appearance.

Braving the public, one woman says that she doesn't think that Klara is fashionable because of her "basic clothing".

"She looks as though she's trying to hide her body, it's as though she doesn't want anyone to notice her," another suggests. "I think she's struggling with confidence."

One man insists she's not an unattractive woman but that she's "not making the most of what she's got".

At the end of the survey, she discovers that her average age is 47.

"Wow," Klara replies but admits it's "what she was expecting".

However Klara reveals she is 41 - just six years below the average age the public believed her to be.

Asked how she would like to feel when she looks in the mirror, Klara replies: "Less hideous would be a good start."

"You're so not hideous," Cherry replies. "We've so got to fix this."

Will they be able to help Klara with both her insecurities and enhancing her outward beauty?
