Lollapalooza 1-day general admission passes sell out in under 3 hours

March 23--Lollapalooza one-day general admission passes sold out in less than three hours Wednesday, just hours after organizers revealed the lineup for the four-day music festival.

Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, LCD Soundsystem and J. Cole are scheduled to headline the festival, set for July 28-31 in Grant Park.

One-day general admission passes, which cost $120, sold out in 2 hours, 45 minutes after they went on sale at 10 a.m., Lollapalooza reps tweeted.

Saturday, July 30 passes, which include sets by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction, were the first to sell out. Passes for the Sunday, July 31 lineup, which features LCD Soundsystem and Ellie Goulding, were the last to sell out.

Four-day general admission passes, which cost $335, sold out in about 46 minutes Tuesday.

One-day VIP passes, which cost $650, and four-day VIP passes, priced at $2,200, were still available for purchase Wednesday afternoon.

The passes include access to restricted lounges, golf cart transportation, special viewing platforms, catered food and air-conditioned restrooms, among other perks.

Also for sale are platinum passes, priced at $4,200 for four days, that include VIP pass perks and access to air-conditioned hospitality areas, special viewing areas and a merchandise gift bag.

An estimated 100,000 people attended Lollapalooza each of the three days last year. The festival is expanding to four days this year for its 25th anniversary.
