Lolla sightings: Sam Smith hangs out at Soho House; Metallica singer dines at Chicago Cut

Aug. 01--Day 1 of Lollapalooza is over and still no sign of "Breaking Bad" fan favorite and "Mr. Lollapalooza" Aaron Paul. Sorry. Here are the celeb sightings I did hear about, including where Lolla headliners have been spotted so far:

- Lolla headliner Sam Smith hung out Friday at Soho House. "Having a very chilled night resting my voice before tomorrow's show at LOLLA!!" Smith tweeted.

- Metallica's James Hetfield had dinner with his wife Friday at Chicago Cut Steakhouse while in town to headline Lolla Saturday. John Cusack also dined at Chicago Cut that night.

- Michael Pena ("Ant-Man") played drums, Danny Masterson ("That 70s Show") played guitar and Adam Busch ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") sang Friday at Bub City. Masterson's brother Chris Masterson ("Malcolm in the Middle") snapped photos of the band, which called itself Grandpa vs. Prowler and performed covers such as Tom Petty's "Runnin' Down a Dream" and The Beatles' "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away," while their pregnant sister Alanna Masterson sat in the back with her "Walking Dead" co-star Tyler James Williams.

- On Thursday, Danny Masterson DJed The Music Lounge 10 Years party at Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel with Chris Masterson and hung out at Celeste with Pena and Arcade Fire singer Win Butler. Cold War Kids DJed Friday at Celeste and had dinner Wednesday at Nellcote.

- Rapper/actor 50 Cent had dinner at Prime and Provisions and performed at The Shrine Thursday and performed again at the Lolla after-party at Parliament Friday. Brody Jenner ("The Hills") and Devin Lucien DJed Thursday at Parliament and were also spotted that day with Lucien's fiancee, Kaitlin Doubleday ("Empire") at the newly opened The Hampton Social. Jenner had lunch Friday at Dolce Italian in The Godfrey Hotel.

- Former *NSYNC singer Joey Fatone, "Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz -- who rarely misses the Lolla festivities -- snowboarder Louie Vito and the Cubs' Anthony Rizzo were on hand for Wyclef's energetic performance at The Underground Friday. Vito tweeted that he and Fatone also were at Rockit Bar and Grill that night: "I was thinking of dance battling @realjoeyfatone at Rockit tonight but then I saw he made it further on DWTS than me."

- Mayor Rahm Emanuel dined Wednesday at Ada Street with Lolla organizers, including Janes Addiction frontman Perry Farrell.

- "Habits (Stay High)" singer Tove Lo dined Thursday at Frontier before her sold-out show at Concord Music Hall. Fellow Lolla performer Gary Clark Jr. dined Tuesday at Quartino Ristorante.
