
Worlds 2025 has just wrapped up and Christmas is now on the horizon. It’s finally time to play on the highly anticipated Winter Rift, which arrives just in time for the holidays.
Along with these League of Legends changes, there are new skins, a lot of balance changes for champions to give them new roles and take away some of their power, new events, and many more.
When does LoL Patch 25.23 release?

League updates are released on Wednesdays, and this schedule remains the same for every patch. The updates come to the PBE servers with new features, skins, and adjustments, before being released on the live servers. The next update is scheduled for Nov. 19, 2025. While the official release times across all regions are different, here are the usual timings for the update:
- 3pm CT (NA)
- 5am GMT (EU West)
- 3am CET (EU North East)
- 8am KR (Korea)
What’s in LoL Patch 25.23?

Patch 25.23 brings the Unsundered, Zaahen, as the latest champion to hit the Summoner’s Rift. The Blue Essence Emporium makes a return for players. The highly awaited Winter map is finally coming to the game, which covers everything in snow, with a holiday-themed Nexus and Turret style to cherish your winters. The Arcane Anniversary event is also coming to celebrate one year of the hit animated show by bringing all the existing show-related skins for purchase, along with new free cosmetics.
In addition, two new skins in Rain Shepard Tristana and Rain Shepard Gwen are coming to the game with this update, along with their chromas.
Champion buffs
The following champions are receiving buffs in League Patch 25.23:
Aatrox
[P] Deathbringer Stance
- Monster Damage Cap has been increased from 100 to 100 – 320 (based on level).
[Q] The Darkin Blade
- Bonus Monster Damage has been increased from 40 flat bonus damage.
Ahri
[W] Fox-Fire
- Subsequent hit damage has been increased to 30 percent to 40 percent.
- Maximum single-target hit damage has been increased to 64/96/128/160/192 (+ 64 percent AP) to 72/108/144/180/216 (+ 72 percent AP).
Ambessa
[Q] Cunning Sweep/Sundering Slam
Monster Damage has been increased from +125 to +150.
Cho’Gath
[E] Vorpal Spikes
Monster Damage: 20/40/60/80/100 (+30 percent AP) + up to 200 based on target max HP to 100/150/200/250/300 (+30% AP).
Sion
[Q] Decimating Smash
Monster Mod has been increased from 150 percent to 165 percent.

Bonus Monster Damage has been increased from 0 to 50 flat bonus damage.

- Bonus Monster Damage has been increased from 0 to 50 flat bonus damage.

- AD Growth has increased from 2.5 to 2.9.

- Mana has been increased from 60/65/70/75/80 to 50/55/60/65/70.

- AD Growth has increased from 4 to 5.
[Q] Shattered Earth/Upheaval
- Cooldown has been reduced from 8/7/6/5/4 to 8/6.75/5.5/4.25/3.
- Target Max HP damage has been increased from 8 to 9 percent.

Damage per wave has been increased in 75 percent Total AD (+ 25 percent AP) to 80 percent Total AD (+ 25 percent AP).

- Base AD has been increased from 59 to 61.

Move Speed on Crit has been increased from 14 percent (+ .4 percent AS) to 14 percent (+ .44 percent AS).
[W] Deadly Flourish
Damage has been increased from 60/95/130/165/200 (+ 50 percent AD) to 70/105/140/175/ 210 (+ 50 percent AD).
Volibear
- Base Attack damage has been increased from 62 to 65.
Champion nerfs
The following champions are receiving nerfs in League Patch 25.23:
Ashe

Attack Speed has been decreased from 25/37.5/50/62.5/75 percent to 20/30/40/50/60 percent.
Caitlyn

- Champion Damage increase has been decreased from 60/90/120 percent total AD to 60/80/100 percent total AD.
- Non-Champion Damage increase has been decreased from 110/115/120% total AD to 110 percent total AD.
Hwei
[QE] Molten Fissure
- Hit Damage has been decreased from 20/40/60/80/100 (+ 30 percent AP) to 20/35/50/65/80 (+ 30 percent AP).
- Damage over time has been decreased from 50/100/150/200/250 (+ 50% AP) to 50/87.5/125/162.5/200 (+ 60% AP).
- Total Damage has been decreased from 70/140/210/280/350 (+ 80 percent AP) to 70/ 122.5/175/227.5/280 (+ 90 percent AP).
Jinx
[R] Super Mega Death Rocket!
Maximum Damage has been decreased from 300/450/600 (+155 percent Bonus AD) (+ 25/ 30/35 percent missing HP) to 250/400/550 (+130 percent Bonus AD) (+25/30/35 percent missing HP).
Kai’Sa
- Base Armor has been decreased from 27 to 25.
[R] Killer Instinct
Cooldown has been increased from 120/90/60 to 130/100/70.
Neeko
The developer fixed the bug where she used to tank multiple tower shots as a canon minion. Now, Neeko transforms back into the champion upon taking damage from a turret.
Rek’Sai
[P] Fury of the Xer’Sai
Fury gained on minion hit has been decreased from 20 to 16 percent. (5 to 4)
Max HP gained has been decreased from 10-20 percent to 9-20 percent (based on level).
Vladimir
- Base Health has been reduced from 607 to 600.
- Base Armor has been reduced from 27 to 24.
Champion adjustments

Dr Mundo
While Dr. Mundo is currently balanced, the developer will keep an eye on the champion as its popularity rises.
[E] Blunt Force Trauma
Bonus attack damage from Maximum Health has been changed from 2/2.2/2.4/2.6/2.8 percent to 2/2.3/2.6/2.9/3.2 percent.
- Bug fixed: Dr. Mundo was getting maximum damage at 30 percent missing HP instead of 70 percent missing HP.
Fizz
The developer aims to make Fizz more robust during his laning phase. To do that, they’re improving his early resilience and rely less on his ultimate for engages. They’re also trying to get the Fizz into the jungle with a few changes to make his clears good.
Base Armor: 22 to 26
[P] Nimble Fighter
Damage reduction vs monsters has been increased from 4 to 14.
[W] Seastone Trident
Active and on-hit damage deals 60 more damage to monsters. (jungle change)
[R] Chum the Waters
Cooldown has been increased from 100/85/70 to 120/100/80.
Mel
The developer feels that Mel is one of League’s most frustrating champions, and they are trying to fix it by balancing the champion with a little nerf and buff.
[P] Searing Brilliance
Damage per spell has been changed from 24-99+ 9 percent AP to 24-150+ 15 percent AP.
[E] Solar Snare
Root Duration has been changed from 1.25/1.5/1.75/2/2.25 to 1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5/1.6.
Item adjustments
The following item is receiving an adjustment in League Patch 25.23:
Sunfire Aegis
Monster damage multiplier has been increased from 1.6x to 2x.
