The Lok Sabha on Friday failed to complete the Question Hour for the second consecutive week as persistent sloganeering by Opposition members over the NEET paper leak and the alleged theft of Ram Temple donations forced repeated disruptions.
Question Hour, held between 11 am and noon, is a key parliamentary mechanism through which MPs hold the government accountable by seeking oral replies from ministers. Friday's disruption meant the House once again failed to transact meaningful business during the hour.

Since the Monsoon Session began on July 20, the Lok Sabha has not functioned beyond 10 minutes during Question Hour on any day.
Speaker Om Birla has repeatedly appealed to Opposition members to allow the House to function during Question Hour, stressing its importance in ensuring government accountability. He has also expressed regret over what he described as "pre-planned" disruptions by Opposition MPs.
Although the House recently held a 10-hour discussion on the Bill to amend the anti-paper leak law, repeated disruptions have prevented it from taking up both Question Hour and Zero Hour, during which members raise matters of urgent public importance.

On Thursday, amid continued slogan-shouting by the Opposition, the Lok Sabha passed the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which makes any disrespect to the National Song, Vande Mataram, a punishable offence, after a brief debate.
