Loic Damour seals Hearts switch as Cardiff midfielder pens four-year Tynecastle deal

Hearts have completed the signing of Cardiff’s Loic Damour on a permanent deal in time to face Ross County tomorrow.

The 28-year-old was initially offered on a season-long loan after falling out of favour at the Bluebirds but has penned a four-year deal in Gorgie.

Hearts pushed to secure the midfielder outright and have got their man.

Damour arrived in Edinburgh last night for advanced contract talks and is the Craig Levein 's fifth summer signing.

The midfielder could make a whirlwind Premiership debut against the Highlanders.

There was interest in Damour from France, where he’s turned out for Strasbourg, Boulogne and Frejus Saint-Raphael, but the player wanted to remain in British football.

Damour joined Cardiff from Bourg-Peronnas in the summer of 2017 after shining in Ligue 2. He made 32 appearances in his maiden campaign for the club but played just four times last term.

The capture of Damour is likely to see Hearts cool their interest in Glenn Whelan.
