Loic Damour seals Hearts exit as Frenchman’s misery comes to an end

Loic Damour has completed his move from Hearts after joining Le Mans on loan.

The French midfielder was tipped to leave the club after struggling for game time over his period at the club and he's now moved to the third tier in his homeland.

He's joined Le Mans - who are part time - on loan and it's expected the move could be made permanent next summer on a free transfer.

He signed a four-year deal when he made the move to Tynecastle under Craig Levein but struggled to hold down a place under the former manager.

It was a similar story under Daniel Stendl and Robbie Neilson with the 30-year-old playing just 18 league games over his time in Edinburgh.

It's a fall from grace from Damour who was playing in England's Premier League as recently as three seasons ago.

But it's move he inevitably feels he has to make in order to get back playing football regularly.

Le Mans, a part-time side, can't afford to take the full brunt of his wages but it's said they will split his wages with Hearts and take on around £2,000 per week to bring him back to France.

If the move goes well, Hearts are prepared to let him go and join Le Mans for free next summer - a year ahead of his contract expiring in 2023.
