Logitech G935 Review: A Great Sounding Gaming Headset

Logitech G935 – RTINGS.com

The Logitech G935 are good gaming headphones that have great audio reproduction and are compatible with the G Hub software, which allows tons of customization options. These headphones are the wireless variant of the Logitech G635, which we also tested. Unfortunately, these Logitech headphones are bulky, somewhat tight on larger heads, and they don’t have the best microphone, but your voice will still sound clear. They are well-built and comfortable for long gaming sessions, and their wireless design offers freedom to move around easily. This headset is great for gamers who like to mess around with their settings and also care about sound fidelity.

Pros

+ Great audio reproduction
+ Amazing app support
+ Comfortable and durable build

Cons

- Very bulky design
- Poor isolation performance
- Sound delivery varies significantly across users; sensitive to glasses

Design

Type: Over-ear
Enclosure: Closed-back

The Logitech G935 are gaming headphones, and their looks can’t deny it. They have a very bulky design that looks fairly futuristic and have large cups with RGB lighting. The padding is thick and comfortable, which is nice for long gaming sessions. They are the wireless variant of the Logitech G635 and are also quite similar to the Logitech G933. Unfortunately, they don’t come with a cable with an in-line remote like the G933, which gives you fewer controls. These headphones are well-built and you can easily carry around their USB receiver inside the left cup, which is pretty handy. However, they are quite bulky and take a lot of space, which isn’t ideal. The Logitech G935 are not very breathable headphones, which means you might need to take them off and let your ears cool a bit if you’re gaming for hours. On the upside, they have three mappable buttons which can practically do anything you want when set inside the app.

Sound

Logitech G935 Frequency Response – RTINGS.com

The Logitech G935 are great sounding closed-back gaming headphones. They have a great and neutral audio reproduction that is versatile for a wide variety of music genres and video games. Their bass is accurate and extended, but slightly over our target curve, which some may prefer for bass-heavy music or games with explosions. Their mid-range is also great, which results in accurate reproduction of vocals and lead instruments. The G935 also have a very good treble range that is fairly well-balanced and even, up to 10kHz. They also have great imaging, which is important for the accurate localization and placement of objects like video game sound effects and footsteps. On top of having a very flat sound profile, you can easily EQ the G935 to your liking inside the Logitech G Hub software.

Isolation

Logitech G935 Noise Isolation – RTINGS.com

Noise Cancelling: No

The Logitech G935 aren’t great headphones to use in loud environments and can get a bit leaky as well. The pleather pads of the G935 don’t have the same porous fabric of the G635 wired variant, but they still aren’t a good option for blocking out ambient noise. These headphones won’t be great to use in public transit as they don’t isolate against lower-end frequencies like engine rumbles. They also won’t be ideal for a loud and crowded gaming event as a lot of noise will seep into your audio. Additionally, they’re a bit leaky at higher volumes, so they may be distracting to anyone next to you in quieter conditions, like gaming at night with roommates or when your partner is near you.

Microphone

Logitech G935 Microphone Frequency Response – RTINGS.com

Mic Type: Boom

The retractable boom microphone of the Logitech G935 is decent. The recording quality of the microphone sounds better than what the graph shows, which you can listen to for yourself in our full measurements. Overall, your voice will sound natural and detailed, but will be thin and bright. People playing games with you won’t have any problem hearing you if you are in a quiet environment. Even in loud situations, the mic does a good job at separating speech from ambient noise, but it might struggle a bit in very loud gaming events. Control-wise, you have access to a mic-mute button on the headset or you can flip it up to hide it in the cup, muting the mic simultaneously.

Active Features

Battery Life: 12.8 hours
Charge Time: 3.7 hours
App Support: Yes
Passive Playback: Yes

The Logitech G935 have a decent battery life with about 13 hours of continuous playback when the RGB lights are turned off. Unfortunately, the spec sheet only advertises 8 hours of battery life with the RGB lighting, which can be a bit short for some. On the upside, you can use the headset when it’s charging and you can also use an audio cable to use them passively, even if the battery is dead. However, when using a 1/8” connector, you won’t have access to the great Logitech G Hub software, which you can access wirelessly with the USB dongle. You get tons of customization options like surround sound, a 10-band EQ, and control over the RGB lighting. You also get tons of options and control for the sound and microphone of the headset. You can map the buttons of the headphones to different sound profiles, functions, and commands related to your PC system.

Connectivity

Bluetooth: No
Wired: Yes
Wireless Range: 61 feet
Latency: 9ms

The Logitech G935 are wireless gaming headphones that have a USB dongle with minimal latency, which is great for gaming and watching video content. They also have amazing wireless range, which means you’ll be able to play console games from your couch or even get up and walk to the next room over. Unfortunately, the dongle doesn’t support the use of the microphone on the Xbox One, but you’ll have audio. You can also use the headphones wired with a 1/8” TRRS audio cable, which will give you both mic and audio on all platforms. Unfortunately, their dongle has fewer connection options than that of the Logitech G933.

Who Should Buy Them?

Logitech G935 In The Box – RTINGS.com

If you’re looking for gaming headphones that have great audio reproduction and like to customize your headset, then get the Logitech G935. They are a bit more straightforward than the similar G933, but still have an accurate and well-balanced sound profile, on top of having a great 10-band EQ. These headphones are comfortable for long gaming sessions and people playing with you won’t have any trouble understanding you thanks to the decent boom microphone. However, these headphones are very bulky and aren’t very versatile enough for outdoor usage. On the upside, they are wireless and have very minimal latency, and their Logitech G Hub software offers tons of customization options and controls. They also have cool RGB lighting that you can set to whatever color you want or turn it off to get even more battery life. Overall, the Logitech G935 are good gaming headphones that will satisfy most gamers.
