Logistics group Baxter Freight to create 50 jobs as expansion plan moves forward

A Nottinghamshire logistics firm has announced plans to create 50 new jobs as part of a major expansion drive.

Baxter Freight also intends to invest in additional premises and has appointed three new directors and one associate director to mark the start of its Fast Forward business plan.

The plan's aim is to grow turnover from about £18 million to more than £31 million by 2021 and to 120.

Most of the new roles being created in the current expansion are in account management, but there will also be opportunities in operations, finance, support services and business development.

To incorporate the new staff, Baxter Freight is adding 5000 sq ft to its current headquarters as well as investing into new premises.

Managing director Peter Isler said: “As we accelerate our growth and invest in people and premises, this is one of the most exciting phases in Baxter Freight’s development and the most beneficial for our customers.

“Our focus is and always will be on delivering market leading customer service, supported by the most competitive logistics solutions, so that we can build long term relationships.

“To have achieved this growth against the background of uncertain political and economic times is testament to the fantastic team here at Baxter Freight.”

The company is also undergoing significant preparation to become Brexit-ready, with all potential eventualities considered, by becoming an Authorised Economic Operator and expanding its custom capabilities.

Lorraine Sutcliffe, promoted to associate director as part of the reform, added:  “Baxter Freight has an ambitious organic growth strategy based on recruiting and training great people and developing them to achieve their full potential within the business.

“It’s an exciting, fun place to work and offers great career opportunities and top of the range rewards.”
