Logistics firm GXO creating 5,500 new jobs including hundreds in Staffordshire

Logistics provider GXO Logistics, Inc is creating more than 5,500 jobs across the UK - including more than 720 roles in Staffordshire.

Northampton-based GXO - XPO's spin off company - has launched a recruitment drive for hundreds of new warehouse operatives across the county, as well as operation managers, inventory controllers and drivers.

The new roles will be available at GXO's sites in Lichfield, Stoke-on-Trent and Tamworth.

They are being created in response to the rise in demand for home shopping and e-commerce during the pandemic and in preparation for the seasonal Christmas surge.

Gavin Williams, GXO's managing director for the UK and Ireland, said: "We are thrilled to be growing our team in Staffordshire. Our culture means roles at GXO are not just jobs, they are careers.

"We are increasingly using technology like data analytics, AI, and robots to transform how we operate and are looking for talented professionals to join us on our journey."
