LOGANAIR has launched its new direct summer route from Edinburgh Airport in a bid to offer holidaymakers the opportunity to explore an “untapped” UK island.
The regional airline completed its inaugural direct flight between Edinburgh and Guernsey on Saturday, with the service running every Saturday until September 13.
The travel firm said the new direct flight is perfect for Scots who are seeking an island adventure this summer by offering them sea views, cliff walks and seafood dining.
Flights depart Edinburgh at 4.10pm, touching down in picturesque Guernsey by 6.10pm, with the return leg leaving Guernsey at 6.40pm, arriving in Edinburgh by 8.45pm.
Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said that the route will also offer Guernsey residents the opportunity to visit the Scottish capital and enjoy its rich history, festivals, and welcoming culture.
He said: “The launch of our direct service between Edinburgh and Guernsey offers a seamless connection between two distinct destinations and underlines our ongoing commitment to regional connectivity.
“Whether customers are heading to Guernsey for a relaxing island break or flying north to explore Edinburgh’s rich history and culture, Loganair’s latest expansion of our regional routes offers a convenient and direct service.”
Gordon Dewar, chief executive of Edinburgh Airport, said: “It's great to see Loganair start its weekly service to Guernsey, adding another route to their Edinburgh network.
