Loganair announces new route from Dublin Airport to the UK to commence in 2022

UK regional airline Loganair has announced that a new route between Dublin Airport and Teesside will start next year.

Teesside International Airport is located on the River Tees' north side, between Darlington and Stockton-on-Tees, Northern England, about ten miles south-west of Middlesbrough.

Posting about the new route on social media, a Dublin Airport spokesperson said: "Dublin Airport welcomes today’s announcement by Loganair that it will begin a new service between Dublin and Teesside next year.

"The airline will operate its four times weekly service with a 49- seater Embraer ERJ regional jet aircraft from May, 2022.

"Loganair returned to Dublin this month, commencing a four times weekly Dublin to Aberdeen service.

"Over 2.9 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport in the first eight months of this year, representing an 87% decrease when compared to pre COVID levels in 2019."

On Sunday, the first Loganair flight from Dublin Airport to Aberdeen took off.

In a Facebook post Loganair said: "On Sunday our first flight between Aberdeen and Dublin took to the skies!

"The new route will initially operate up to four times a week, moving to daily in spring 2022."
