Loganair adds destinations in Germany and Denmark for summer 2020

Loganair has added new services from Edinburgh to Hanover in Germany and Esbjerg in Denmark to its schedules for summer 2020.

The airline also revealed it will add capacity with a larger aircraft on its services to Orkney and Shetland from Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow and will upgrade its Glasgow to Benbecula route to a jet service all year round.

The Edinburgh-Hanover service will fly five times a week - Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays year round and Saturdays during summer. Edinburgh-Esbjerg, will fly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

It also plans to introduce more convenient flight times for business travel on the Glasgow-Cardiff and Glasgow-East Midlands routes, and more flights and seats for Glasgow to Cornwall Airport Newquay, Donegal and Islay.

The increase in capacity is being aided by larger aircraft on Highlands and Islands services, and the addition of East Midlands services following the withdrawal of Flybe from those routes in October.

Loganair chief executive Jonathan Hinkles said: "Today's announcement represents a significant investment in our aircraft and route networks in our heartlands of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen," "I'm sure that the upgrades to the aircraft our Highlands and Islands routes will be well received by island travellers, and the new international services, improved timetables and extra flights on many routes from Glasgow and Edinburgh will provide new flexibility for both business and leisure travellers alike."
