Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather purse and prize money for exhibition fight

Floyd Mayweather will earn up to $100million (£70m) from his exhibition bout with Logan Paul tonight.

The ring legend will return to action for the first time since his first-round KO of Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasakawa in 2018.

He will clash with YouTube star Paul over eight rounds - but no winner will be declared as there will be no ringside judges.

Mayweather and Paul will be permitted to knock each other out, however, and the referee will be able to stop the fight.

And regardless of the outcome, both men will be well compensated with Paul estimated to be earning around $20m (£14m).

Mayweather initially boasted that he was guaranteed to earn $100m but has since hedged his bets as the fight drew closer.

He initially said: “I can fight a fighter right now and I can guarantee myself $35m. I can eventually probably make $50m for just a regular fight.

“Or me and Logan Paul can go out, entertain, have fun and make nine figures $100m or more.”

But the former pound-for-pound No.1 now claims to be guaranteed a $30m cheque and to walk away with at least $50m after adding his slice of the pay-per-view revenue.

Mayweather might not be earning the even-greater sums he did as a professional, but he hardly needs to given his claims over his net worth.

He said recently: “They say, ‘Mayweather’s doing exhibitions, it’s bad for boxing.’ At the end of the day, my mother’s a millionaire, my dad’s a millionaire, my children are millionaires.

“My little [five-month-old] grandson is a multi-millionaire and he don’t even know it.”

“I’ve made a billion. I’ve reached that four years ago. [Now I’m] over $1.2billion… I knew from the beginning I was the best in boxing, from day one.

“I just knew I was better than every other fighter. There will never be a fighter better than me, never.

“Tell me another fighter that beat 16 world champions straight? Tell me another fighter that, in just two fights, made $650million…?

“For [Manny] Pacquiao I made $300million, for [Conor] McGregor I made $350million.”

Paul, meanwhile, was originally reported to be earning just $200,000 for his bout with Mayweather - but he soon corrected that assumption.

Paul's co-host on his podcast Impaulsive, Mike Maijak, said: "Eight figures - you're not going to say it, but eight figures" - and Paul did not correct him.

Paul will earn far more than he did for his sole professional fight, a defeat by fellow social media star KSI in 2019.

He picked up a guaranteed $900,000 for their rematch following their white-collar draw the previous year - although his earnings will have been boosted by his share of the pay-per-view revenue.

And the Ohio native will see his net worth almost double from an estimated $19m after tonight's bout with Mayweather.
