Logan Paul doubles down on claim “rat” Floyd Mayweather has not paid him for exhibition

Logan Paul has branded Floyd Mayweather a "rat" in his latest claim that the former champion did not pay him for their exhibition bout.

The YouTube star fought Mayweather in a hotly-anticipated ring meeting after almost half a year of build-up with both fighters expected to receive bumper paydays.

Paul made a claim on an Instagram story that the retired star has still not yet paid him for the clash and is keen to get the money he is allegedly owed.

Now the 26-year-old had doubled down on his previous accusation, tweeting : "Yeah because the dirty little rat hasn’t paid me yet lol. It’s been 6 months. But no worries Floyd Mayweather, KSI and I are going to make the money back you stole from me and more. January 4."

This is now the second time Paul has mentioned the claim in a number of days after accompanying his previous dig with a picture of Mayweather photoshopped during a holiday in Russia.

Mirror Fighting has contacted a representative of Mayweather's for comment.

The exhibition between Paul and Mayweather was a huge success in general reportedly attracting huge pay-per-view sales with over one million estimated to have been bought.

This would be a significant leap from several other boxing events held in the year that have failed to reach the one million mark due to the higher price point.

Mayweather has fought in an exhibition previously and this was his second time against Paul which proved a much tougher task than his routine stoppage of kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018.

Paul had a much bigger frame than his rival and was able to weigh a monstrous 31lbs more than his rival which allowed him to establish some lasting defence.

During his time as undefeated champion Mayweather fought in bumper events such as an illustrious tilt with Manny Pacquiao and a mega-money crossover bout with Conor McGregor.

Despite previously claiming he is unlikely to return to the ring, Mayweather has recently announced he will be returning to exhibition action later this year in Dubai with an opponent yet to be named.

Speaking to the camera while in Dubai, Mayweather confirmed the news, explaining: "Big business, big business, big business, Money May - 2022 in Dubai, right here, exhibitions, big business, events in 2022 - I'll see you guys."

Paul was expected to have earned over 10% of the total revenue with his earnings expected to have reached £15 million after his $250,000 guarantee and the sales of the event.

It was claimed in the aftermath that Paul could next feature in the ring with legendary heavyweight Mike Tyson who is looking to return to the ring next year.

Tyson has fought in an exhibition of his own against Roy Jones Jr in 2020 and has spoken of his fondness of the Paul's and their influence in the sport.

However Paul has since dismissed the claims despite refusing to rule out the bout completely in the future to "prove" people wrong.
