Rudiger, Loftus-Cheek and Alonso - Chelsea injury news and return dates ahead of Slavia Prague

After a disappointing defeat at the hands of Liverpool, attention in the Chelsea ranks turns to Thursday's Europa League quarter final clash with Slavia Prague.

The Blues take a 1-0 lead into the second leg at Stamford Bridge, giving Maurizio Sarri's side a good platform to progress.

Of course this will come down to the players that the Chelsea boss has at his disposal after a demanding Premier League encounter at Anfield.

Who were Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham scouts watching as Benfica beat Eintracht Frankfurt?

One player who could be a doubt is Antonio Rudiger.

The defender hobbled off with a suspected knee injury during the trip to Merseyside, and Sarri was coy when asked about Rudiger in his post-match press conference.

He said: "I hope nothing serious but at the moment I am unable to say anything.

"We need to get back to Cobham and have another visit with the doctor. Probably we need something else to be sure it is not serious but at the moment I am not sure."

Two players who could be fit for the clash at Stamford Bridge are Marcus Alonso and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The defender didn't feature against Liverpool, but did play the full 90 minutes in Austria last week, meaning that he could feature again this time around.

As for Loftus-Cheek, the midfielder started the clash at Anfield but was taken off midway through the second half as he builds up his fitness following injury.

Whether Maurizio Sarri sees him as being fit enough to start remains to be seen.
