Locked Up: The gang members, rapists, slave trade brothers and hospital ram-raiders jailed in Wales this month

Here are the faces of some of the criminals who have been locked up in Wales in the past month.

They include two men who were jailed for their part in the horrific gang rape of a woman in Abertridwr, a father and son who kept a vulnerable man as a slave and made him work for free and a woman who wore tights over her head and carried a knife to try and rob a Chinese takeaway.

There were also members of an organised crime gang and dangerous drivers sent to prison in June.

Hemin Salimpirik and Kuchar Rahim

Jailed for their part in the horrific gang rape of a woman who had been drugged at a house in Abertridwr, Caerphilly.

The victim was forced to relive her horrific ordeal in court after two men charged with rape denied the offence.

Anthony Baker and Harvey Baker

Scrap metal dealer Anthony Baker kept a vulnerable man as a slave and made him work for free for more than two years

He also handed out repeated beatings to his victim, who was also assaulted on numerous occasions by Baker's teenage son Harvey Baker.

Alexander Giles

Alexander Giles, 33, was jailed for six years (South Wales Police)

Giles was jailed for six years after his home was found filled with chemicals and components that could be used to make explosives.

The 33-year-old also had US army manuals and recipes for the manufacturing of explosives, a Taser and class A drugs.

Swansea  Crown Court heard Giles had an "obsession" with collecting chemicals used for dangerous explosives but had no connection with terror groups and had no plans to manufacture them.

Ben Wilson and Benjamin Fitzsimons

The two gamekeepers involved in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old in the car park of a pub were jailed.

Peter Colwell died when a shotgun was fired as he sat in a vehicle parked at the Ship Inn in Llanbedrog near Pwllheli.

The judge at sentencing said it was "an accident that could have so easily been avoided."

Abdirasak Abdillahi

 

The drug dealer thought to have been on the run from police for 18 months was at home the whole time.

He wasn’t picked up until an eagle-eyed PCSO spotted him near the Taff embankment earlier this month – and a court was told he’d been at his home in  Splott  the whole time.

Lucas Needham

The disqualified driver who reached speeds of more than 130mph as he fled from police with a seven-year-old child in his car was jailed this week for two-and-a-half years.

Uninsured Lucas Needham embarked on "a shocking piece of driving" when he realised police had "clocked him" on the A55 in May.

Jane Evans

Jane Evans was jailed for 18 months (South Wales Police)

The cleaner slapped an emergency worker after catapulting her speeding car off the road and seriously injuring her colleague on the first day of her new job.

Mum-of-two Jane Evans wanted to “make a good impression” in her new role, a court heard, but drank two cans of Stella Artois before driving at 80mph in a 30mph zone.

Richard Evans

Evans hounded his ex-girlfriend , who he had met on Tinder, after their relationship ended.

He tracked his girlfriend’s movements via Snapchat during a night out when they were together and also threatened suicide when she declined to spend Christmas with him.

After the pair broke up 26-year-old Evans hassled Jerry Honeyball with repeated emails and phone calls before sending flowers to her place of work on Valentine’s Day this year.

David Hughes

David Hughes beat his former boss about the head with a rolling pin (South Wales Police)

The café cook beat his former boss about the head with a rolling pin after being refused a job reference when he was sacked.

The victim was left with a broken jaw and scarring on his face after the attack and had to spend three days in hospital.  Swansea Crown Court  heard there had been "tension and bad feeling" between the pair following the sacking.

Kyron Farrell

Kyron Farrell led police on a 120mph chase on the hard shoulder of the M4 (South Wales Police)

The 25-year-old will miss the birth of his first child after being locked up for leading police on a 120mph chase down the M4.

The chase ended with him crashing into a house in the Pontprennau area of Cardiff.

Jordan Morgan

Jordan David Morgan has been jailed for a year after admitting battery, inflicting grievous bodily harm, and affray charges (South Wales Police)

The dad-of-two held a knife to his childhood sweetheart’s throat and told her: “I’m either going to kill you or myself”.

Jordan David Morgan brandished the kitchen knife at then-partner Terri Spencer before being dragged away by her mother. Morgan then pushed her causing her to fracture her ankle in two places, a court heard.

The gang involved in the supply of cocaine in Newport in an organised crime network were jailed for a total of 61 years.

Anthony McNamee, 30, Ryan McNamee, 24, Neil Seer, 33, Sanjeev Boora, 44, Jonathan Appleton, 32, Gary Taylor, 29, Nicholas Moss, 45, and Darren Dally, 34, were part of a group which operated on a hierarchical basis.

Drug dealer Evans unknowingly told a police officer to "hide whatever you’s got in your pants" when he was caught in the act.

He believed he was tipping off a man who he and accomplice, Jesse Bailey, had just sold cocaine to.

Little did he know it was a police officer who answered his customer’s phone which rang as his vehicle was being searched.

James Stevenson

He bit his partner's nose during a drunken row.

Stevenson sank his teeth into his girlfriend's face as they "scuffled" during a heated argument in her home.

Kayleigh Doughty

Doughty was carrying a knife and wearing tights over her head when she tried to rob a Co-op and a Chinese takeaway.

The 29-year-old made a taxi wait for her while she ran into the takeaway and brandished the knife at a member of staff and shouted "f***ing open the till and give me the money".

When she was chased out of the takeaway, she ran around the corner and targeted a Co-Op.

Tyler Evans

Tyler Evans, 23, was jailed for two years and one month after being found with MDMA tablets (South Wales Police)

The dreadlocked drug dealer was caught after trying to sell MDMA tablets at a pub in Bridgend.

Evans, 23, was jailed after being found in possession of the drugs while drinking at the Three Horseshoes pub on January 12.

The “cruel and calculating” cyber criminal who took part in a massive TalkTalk hack attack and blackmailed former chief executive Dido Harding has been locked up for four years.

Kelley, from  Llanelli , turned to “black hat” hacking when he failed to get the GCSE grades to get on to a computer course at Coleg Sir Gar in  Carmarthenshire .

Terrified Cardiff shop workers pulled down the shutters and stayed inside when they heard shouting and saw a man pointing a gun in the street outside.

Butcher Lee Parsons described hearing shouting and swearing outside the wholesale meats store then seeing a man holding a gun in both hands out in front of him.

The man who was holding the gun, Tobias Cody, was jailed at  Cardiff Crown Court  for a string of offences.

Kashif Ahmed

 

The jilted Tesco worker pulled a gun on a work colleague in a jealous rage after he accused him of flirting with his ex-girlfriend.

The 28-year-old was jailed for nine years after holding a 10-inch gun to David Thomas' head.

A man was left bleeding after being wounded with a machete as the three robbers likened to "a pack of wolves" stole his cash, phone and keys.

Kevin Gamble was left with a deep cut to his hand when he put his arm up to protect himself during the unprovoked attack in the middle of the afternoon.

Richard Barnard

Locked up for five years for firing at unarmed police officers after they went to check on him.

The 44-year-old shot at officers in Llawddyn,  Powys  , when they called on him to check his wellbeing.

Emma Hughson

The bereaved girlfriend glassed a woman in the face with a broken beer bottle.

 Hughson left her victim with permanent scars on her face in the early-hours attack.

Paul Newall

When police arrested Paul John Newall he became abusive towards officers and told them: 'I am Millwall' (South Wales Police)

The self-styled hardman threatened to shoot his ex in front of her children in a “campaign” of vile abuse and threats.

Paul John Newall bombarded the woman with texts and phone calls following the end of their brief relationship. He even continued after being arrested by police and released.

Mohammed Noor Ali

Mohammed Noor Ali, 36, was jailed for nine years after raping a woman in Maesteg (South Wales Police)

The rapist took more than 100 photos of his victim , while she was unconscious, on his mobile phone.

His victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had no memory of the assault and woke up with injuries.

Thomas Connors

The fraudster persuaded a pensioner to hand over £9,000 of savings by pretending to be a roofer sent to work on her block of flats.

Thomas Connors also gave a clergyman a quote for £4,000 for replacing cracked tiles – work later judged by an independent expert to be worth £700 and in fact completely unnecessary.

Ashley Williams

The self-employed tiler took his girlfriend’s car without her knowing and crashed it into a pub beer garden after losing control having overtaken a minibus.

Williams, 27, was over the legal alcohol limit and disqualified from driving when he flipped his partner’s silver Ford Focus over a hedge and hit several wooden pub benches.

Williams was jailed for 14 months and disqualified from driving for four years.

Leon Owens

Leon Owens has repeatedly attacked police officers (South Wales Police)

Owens has a history of assaulting police and was sent to prison this time for throwing knives, bricks, and other missiles out of a window at officers who had responded to an emergency call that he was armed.

Officers had received reports Leon Peter Owens had armed himself with a knife at his grandmother’s home where he lived and went to the address in Cilfrew, Neath , on May 5.

Owens was sentenced to six months in prison to be followed by a year on post-release supervision.

Debbie Alexander

Former finance manager Debbie Alexander, 50, was jailed for 14 months after stealing more than £85,000 from her employer (Gwent Police)

The finance manager stole more than £85,000 from the company she worked for and bought multiple homes.

Alexander, 50, was employed by Tail Lift and Shutterdoor Specialists (TASDS) in  Caerphilly  for six years and carried out the theft between 2014 and 2018.

Alexander was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment and she was made subject to the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Morgan Charles Ralph

Morgan Ralph subjected his ex to a 'prolonged and brutally savage beating' (Dyfed-Powys Police)

Ralph subjected an ex-partner to a "prolonged and brutally savage beating" in her own home.

A court was told he has a history of violence towards women, including breaking another partner's jaw in an assault involving a screwdriver.

Sending him to prison, a judge branded the 34-year-old a "woman beater" and a "complete coward".

He was sentenced to two years and three months in prison.

Ralph will serve half that period in custody before being released on licence to serve the remainder in the community.

Richard Tamlin

The labourer headbutted his childhood sweetheart, rained down blows and hit her with a broken piece of wood during a “dreadful” attack in their home.

Tamlin left his long-term partner Jordan Britten with a chipped front tooth, split eyebrow, and badly bruised arms following the assault at their house in the  Vale of Glamorgan .

He was jailed for one year and 10 months and the case was adjourned regarding an application for a restraining order.

Christopher Lloyd

The drug dealer, who smelled strongly of cannabis, was caught with thousands of pounds worth of drugs and cash.

Christopher Lloyd, 31, was stopped by police in the Cefn Glas area of  Bridgend on the evening of January 23 because he was acting suspiciously.

A search of his house then uncovered thousands of pounds' worth of heroin and cannabis and bundles of cash totalling £7,358.

He was jailed for four years after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and cannabis and using, possessing, or acquiring criminal property.

Lemmy Best

Lemmy Best was jailed for four years (Dyfed-Powys Police)

Lemmy Best assaulted five people – including a 78-year-old landlady – during a drunken violent “rampage”.

Best spent 20 minutes attacking fellow customers and staff at the bar leaving one person with a broken arm and another with a dislocated shoulder.

Swansea Crown Court  heard he had spent the previous 12 hours drinking heavily in the bar and shortly before launching the unprovoked assaults was seen exposing himself in the pub.

He was jailed for four years.

Gareth James-Anderson

Gareth Thomas James-Anderson has been jailed for 63 months after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving (Dyfed-Powys Police)

James-Anderson killed a taxi driver in a head-on crash when he got in a car after drinking alcohol and taking cocaine at a nightclub.

Peter Morgan Salmon died after a two-vehicle crash on the A484 between  Carmarthen  and the village of Cwmffrwd in the early hours of August 12 last year.

Mr Salmon had been at the wheel of a Toyota Avensis when the 25-year-old's Volvo V50 veered into the wrong lane and ploughed head-on into his vehicle.

Marina Tilby

A court was told the new mother was so drunk she was unaware her baby had been rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Marina Tilby had spent the night drinking beer and gin before passing out in a stranger's caravan beside her infant son.

She was later found laying on top of the baby, who had blood coming from his nose.

Tilby was sentenced to two years and four months - she will serve half that time in custody before being released on licence to serve the remainder in the community.

Hospital ramraiders

A trio of burglars ram-raided a hospital with a 4x4 causing "extensive damage".

Gareth Carl James, Lee Jeffrey Powell and Tony Christie Smith have all been jailed after the incident at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan.
