A Garda ganghunt has been launched after a popular Grafton Street store was "smashed open and hit up" by a burglary group in the early hours of this morning.
High-end clothes shop Canada Goose was broken into just after 4am on Saturday morning with the gang smashing the front door which also looked like it was "pulled off the hinges".
The culprits behind the attack are still on the loose after the attack but a full probe has been launched by investigating officers.
One eye-witness, Aindriu Breathnach was one of the first people on the scene when staff made the shock realisation this morning.
He came across the incident just as a Dublin City worker was sweeping up the remains of the door as shocked workers watched on.
He told Dublin Live: The Canada Goose shop on Grafton Street was smashed open and hit up by some sort of gang this morning.
"From what I could see, it was the front door that was smashed or pulled off the hinges.
"The jackets in the shop are normally in place with a wire lock. I recently got one for my partner and some retail well over €1,000 per jacket.
"There was a Dublin City road sweeper unit there cleaning up the glass that was shattered all over the street."
A Garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "We are investigating an incident of burglary at a retail premises on Grafton Street this morning, 2 January at approximately 4am."
She added: "No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing."
