A garda ganghunt has been launched after a popular Dublin city store was smashed open and robbed by a burglary group in the early hours of this morning.
The Spar shop on Abbey Street got broken into just after 2am with the gang behind the attack leaving their mark in the form of shattered glass across the ground.
A number of items were stolen during the burglary with a probe underway by Gardai into the incident.
The culprits who carried out the attack are still at large with Gardai urging anyone with information to please come forward.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We are investigating a burglary that occurred on the 5 January at 2.00am at a retail premises on Abbey Street.
"During this burglary, a number of items were stolen from the shop."
He added: "No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
At the weekend, high-end clothes shop Canada Goose was broken into just after 4am on Saturday morning with thieves smashing the front door which looked like it was also "pulled off the hinges".
Eye-witness, Aindriu Breathnach was one of the first people on the scene when staff made the shock realisation in the morning.
He came across the incident just as a Dublin City worker was sweeping up the remains of the door as shocked workers watched on.
