Level 5 Lockdown Shopping: Aldi Ireland's reason for cancellation of 'Special Buys' leaving shoppers distraught

Aldi Ireland has given its reasons for the forced cancellation of some of this week's 'Special Buys' that were due in store on Thursday.

The German supermarket chain issued the update on Twitter which left shoppers distraught ahead of the big weekly drop.

They informed customers that some of the advertised cycling specials would not be available in-store this week due to shipping delays.

Releasing the statement on Twitter, Aldi said they were postponing the sale of the listed items until further notice.

They said: "We’re sorry, a few cycling essentials due on sale this Thursday are postponed due to shipping delays.

"We are working hard to make them available to you as soon as possible."

Items that will not be available in-stock on April 15 are:

  • Bicycle lock
  • Ladies/Mens Cycling shorts
  • Saddle bag 
  • Bike cleaning kit
  • Bike seat cover
  • Metal Jerry can
