Lockdown rave thwarted after police turn up and seize DJ equipment

Police seized DJ equipment from a group of youths attempting to hold an "unauthorised music event" on Saturday.

Officers are patrolling a number of locations across Knowsley this evening, after concerns were raised about plans for the authorised event.

At around 3pm, police were called to reports of men carrying electrical equipment near Wheathill Farm in Huyton.

On arrival the force recovered DJ equipment and other electrical items from the group.

They said a number of youths have been dispersed.

Pictures show police vehicles parked up in the area beside two police quad bikes.

A blue laptop can also be seen in the photos and a bag full of electrical wires.

The event is the latest incident where police have had to break up a music gathering.

On June 20, officers in Aughton seized DJ equipment and sent a "large group of youths" home after they responded to information.

During lockdown, there have been examples of illegal partying in woods and fields, with one in Kirkby, one in Huyton and another in Fazakerley.

A spokesperson for Knowsley Police said: "We want to reassure members of the public that we are continuing to work around this and a number of other locations to prevent unauthorised music events from taking place.

Attending such events can put you and the wider public at significant risk. If you have information on this or other events, please contact @MerPolCC or CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111."
