'Lockdown just got even more weird!' Baffled Scots woman wakes up to 'goats' in front garden on plush housing estate

A Scots woman had a 'very odd start to the day' after finding what she thought was a pair of goats in her garden.

Gilly Struthers was shocked to see the two farmyard animals in her suburban front garden in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire this morning.

She appealed on social media for the owners to come forward.

However with nobody claiming the animals, Gilly has now found rescue workers at the Scottish SPCA (SSPCA) and is waiting on them being picked up.

After arriving at the property the officers from the SSPCA identified the pair as sheep - not goats.

A wide variety of animals have been seen in more urban areas during lockdown as they brave the streets now empty of humans.

Deer and sheep have been a common sight in Scottish streets.

In Italy, dolphins and other sea creatures were seen in the empty canals of Venice near the start of the pandemic.

Gilly told the Record: "Lockdown just got even more weird!

"Just this morning; just finished breakfast and away to get ready for the day and boom, morning goats!

"Great local community effort to get them safe and secure though, just waiting on SSPCA now who are on their way."

Her inititial appeal branded the find a 'very odd start to the day'.

A Scottish SPCA spokeswoman said: "We have been notified about the goats. We are just waiting on a horse trailer to be organised so we can uplift them. All we know at the moment is that they are stray goats. "
