A map shows an area of Britain where houses in the same street are in two different lockdown levels.
Elmbridge in Surrey is currently under Tier 2 restrictions. However, the area borders several others which are in Tier 1, causing widespread confusion.
Spelthorne, Runnymede, Woking, Guildford and Mole Valley, which are all in Tier 1, border the borough of Elmbridge.
It means several Surrey towns only just fall outside the Tier 2 rules, with some properties in the same street are split between the two lockdown levels.
SurreyLive has taken a look at the official boundary map of the borough to show which roads close to the border fall inside and outside the coronavirus "high" alert zone, highlighting the different conditions some Surrey residents are living under despite living so close to one another.

Below is the Ordnance Survey (OS) map showing the official boundary (in pink) of Elmbridge.
Running anticlockwise from the northwest, Elmbridge is almost entirely within the bounds of the M25 motorway.
To the north of Elmbridge, the boundary follows the River Thames, past Thames Ditton Island, underneath the bridge by Hampton Court (A309) and past Platt's Eyot.
The map shows that Walton homes in The Crescent and in part of Felix Lane fall within the boundary; they are the north side of the River Thames. However the nearby Holiday Inn, also in Felix Lane, is in Spelthorne in Tier 1.

Part of the footpath that runs parallel to Bridge Street in Walton falls within the boundary, but as it winds under the bridge to the river's edge it enters Spelthorne territory. So those living in Thames Meadow are living under Tier 1 restrictions.
The Elmbridge boundary includes Desborough Island but nearby Hamhaugh Island is in Spelthorne.
Residents in Wey Road and Round Oak Road, in Weybridge, by Bull Dog Island, are also in Elmbridge.
The border means properties in The Island, in Weybridge, are in Tier 2 but a few streets down is Riverside Park Homes, a residential park home estate, which is technically in Runnymede and in Tier 1.

Continuing anticlockwise, the boundary follows the River Wey until it reaches the railway line north of Brooklands.
The boundary then extends south-westwards to just before Oyster Lane.
Here, the roads Wintersells Road, Avro Way and Sopwith Drive are in Elmbridge.
Just the other side of Oyster Lane, properties in Abbot Road, Dawson Road, York Road and Callard Road are technically in Woking and are in Tier 1.
The boundary continues to where Byfleet Road crosses the River Wey, excluding Byfleet and West Byfleet. Then the river marks the boundary until just before Park Barn Farm. Bizarrely, half of its buildings are in Elmbridge and half are in Guildford, according to the OS map.

The Elmbridge boundary continues north of Queen Anne's Hill and south of The Hangers. It crosses the A3, includes Painshill Park and then crosses over the M25 by Junction 10.
It then continues through a mainly rural area, and curves eastwards before reaching Martyr's Green. The boundary continues to criss-cross the M25, wrapping around Cobham, where it begins to share a border with Mole Valley.
The boundary then passes, and excludes, Pachesham Park in Leatherhead, before curving northwards between Jessop's Well in Elmbridge and Malden Rushett in Kingston.
Elmbridge continues along its shared border with Kingston and then Richmond, which are both Tier 2 areas, along with every other London borough.

The Elmbridge boundary follows the A3 more or less spot on and it is not until it reaches the edge of the Hurst Park area in Molesey that it begins to border Tier 1 areas again.
Confusion was caused when Elmbridge initially went into Tier 2 because residents were still being told via the NHS track and trace app that they were in a medium risk area for up to 36 hours after the new rules came into effect. This was due to a glitch which was later fixed.
In addition, because the app only takes the first part of your postcode for privacy reasons, some people are being told they are in both a medium and high risk area, if the first part of their postcode covers both a Tier 1 and Tier 2 area.
