Lockdown changes Boris Johnson is expected to announce in roadmap tomorrow and what time he will announce them

Boris Johnson is due to set out his roadmap out of lockdown tomorrow, with schools expected to be the first thing that returns when restrictions are eased.

The Prime Minister will outline his roadmap in Parliament in the afternoon, before addressing the nation at a press conference in the evening.

Mr Johnson has said that the process will be "cautious" but with 17.5m people now vaccinated in the UK, calls are growing for a swifter easing of restrictions.

Earlier today Matt Hancock said that there will be "weeks between the steps" so ministers can "watch carefully" the impact of each relaxation of the rules.

Restrictions will be eased step-by-step across the whole of England at the same time, Downing Street said, due to the current uniform spread of the virus.

What changes will be announced

The changes that Mr Johnson will be announcing are not yet fully known, but it's clear that schools and outdoor recreation will be first.

Schools are set to reopen on March 8, with care home residents allowed a regular indoor visitor from the same date under the plans.

Social mixing could be allowed in limited numbers by Easter, at first only two households will be able to meet up outdoors, but a return to the rule of six could also be on the cards.

Non-essential shops are likely to be the next thing to reopen.

This will be followed finally by pubs, restaurants and cafes.

Hairdressers and beauty salons will also stay closed for now, with dates for their reopening remaining uncertain.

Entertainment venues such as theatres, cinemas and nightclubs, as well as sporting facilities are likely to be among the last things to open.

What time will Boris Johnson be speaking

The Prime Minister is expected to update MPs in Parliament on his roadmap out of lockdown in the Commons on Monday at 3.30pm.

This will be followed by a TV address at around 7pm.

What TV channel will be showing Boris Johnson's speeches?

All of the major news channels will be airing Boris' speeches to the commons, as well as the press conference.

It's likely the press conference will be shown on BBC1, with a special programme around the announcement.
