Lochfoot Gala spirits remain high despite heavy rain on the big day

A change of venue didn’t result in a dampening of spirits at Lochfoot Gala on Saturday.

Heavy rain meant the festivities were moved to the village hall, including the crowning of this year’s Queen Etain Bell.

That was followed by a children’s craft show and races and games for the youngsters.

Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes came along as did a Body Shop seller and there was also face painting and the Moo Bar, complete with a specially made Lochfoot cocktail.

Dumfries Mobile Fish and Chip van were the caterers with refreshments from Gail’s tearoom and the day finished with Road Runner Children’s Entertainer and a performance from two-piece band Fairfarren.

The afternoon also featured, appropriately in the conditions, a duck race.
