Loch Ness Monster tourists try to lure Nessie with Haribo in bizarre new trend

Does she exist? Who knows, but German tourists visiting Loch Ness to catch a glimpse of the famous monster certainly think she does.

And, in order to lure her to the surface the holidaymakers are feeding her sweets.

Yes, you read it correctly. German tourists are flocking to Loch Ness armed with Haribo.

They are taking inspiration from a TV advert which aired in Germany in 2017.

Loch Ness Monster 'spotted' - teen claims to have clear proof Nessie IS real

The Haribo ad shows a tour guide in front of the loch with a bowl of sweets, he takes one out and throws it in the air but before he can catch it Nessie swoops in to eat it.

On the back of the hugely popular advert German tourists are now doing the exact same.

Reports of 'Nessie' date back to sixth century Scotland - but the most famous account came after an iconic 1934 'Surgeon's photograph.

Since then people have headed to the shores of the loch to find the monster.
