Loch Ness Monster stuns Highland resident of 30 years as third sighting of year is recorded

A local of 30 years who regularly works near Loch Ness has spoken of his shock at seeing what may have been the famous monster.

Glen Blevins explained that he has lived in the area for over three decades, has worked regularly around the loch during that time and has fished many times on the loch but said he'd never seen anything like what he witnessed on the morning of Friday, April 15.

The stunned resident spotted a large object in the water through his binoculars, stating: “I was near Aldourie Castle on Friday 15th April, working on the banks of the loch when I saw a large animate [sic] object in the water between both banks of the loch at approx 9.30 am."

He added that it stayed there for "around 20 seconds" before sinking back into the water.

He added: "It was dark in colour and I watched it with binoculars that I’d taken with me in the hope of seeing ospreys that had recently returned to the area.

"It was difficult to estimate the size but it was definitely larger than a seal and given the angle, there may have been two, one behind the other.”

Glen explained that he felt privileged to have witnessed it.

The sighting has been recorded as the third official one of the year by the The Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register, after the recent sonar sighting and the first sighting of the year by a visiting documentary maker.
