Loch Lomond's New Year Dook put on hold amid Covid-19 concerns

Organisers have put Loch Lomond's New Year Dook fundraiser on hold due to changing coronavirus guidelines.

Loch Lomond Shores, in association with Protay and Inchbaggers, was due to host the dook on January 2, with the event raising funds for the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat.

However they have now taken the difficult decision to put the event back on ice, due to the changes in government guidelines on both indoor and outdoor events.

Commenting on the postponement of the Dook, Audrey Calder from Loch Lomond Shores said: "We are so disappointed to have to postpone the event but Loch Lomond Shores and our event partners, ProTay and Inchbaggers, feel that it is the right thing to do in the current circumstances.

“Having spent months organising, it will definitely go ahead with the announcement of a new date set for the week of January 10.

“All those booked to take part will be contacted today and we’ll keep in touch to confirm when it will go ahead in 2022. Our aim is to have it in the spring if possible and host a safe, fun and successful event that everyone can enjoy.”

“We offer our sincere apologies to all our participants but hope they’ll understand that this is the right decision given the circumstances.”
